"First of all no one is immortal that I have ever met and second I agree that anyone that is immortal would have to distance themselves from people they meet to stay sane. I'm only 212 and my whole family has been dead and any friends I happened to make. Anyways we are almost to the mansion," said Romulus as he walked up the steps to the front porch with each step making a loud noise.

"No, I don't suppose that would be any fun at all." Atnem went silent. He followed Romulus up the steps, each one bending under his weight, feeling like it would crack. He readied his bow and nocked an arrow, just in case. He tried peeking through the dusty windows, but was unable to see anything. "Looks like the coast is clear. Should we knock and see if anybody's home?"

"Oh yes lets just knock on the door, 'Hello mysterious mansion that kills things we have a snack for you, a nice tasty werewolf, we'll just leave it here for you." Suddenly there was a loud noise from inside the mansion. Rieka yelped and jumped behind Atnem.

"Sounds like the mansion or something in it is excited you came Rieka," said Romulus with a smile on his face. Then Romulus was just about to go and open the door, but then the door slowly creaked open. Then Romulus said, "Well this house seems very interesting so far."

Rieka sniffed the air once the door opened and then sneezed. "It's dusty, musty, and bloody in there. Most of the blood is old though I'd say at least two weeks." She cocked her head to the side with her left ear towards the door. "I can't hear anything, just a few rats in the walls. But I'm not going to be the first one in."

Then Romulus walked forward and said, "Ok I guess I'll lead the way." He then went into the mansion and started to look around to see if anything would attack them. Then he continued strait to another double door that led to the dining with a rectangular table in the center of the big room with a old, torn up table cloth on top. Romulus looked around the room to see if there was anything suspicious. Then once he was done searching this room he started to head to the next room, but right before he left the room there was suddenly a cold breeze and Rieka was surrounded by about ten pale human figures.

Atnem saw the figures appear in a flash, and just as quickly had readied a Scatter Shot, an arrow for each of them, pointed toward Rieka. "You all look like you could use a tan. Sorry I'm not very adept in fire magic, or I'd be happy to give you a quick roasting. I've got other skills, though. I would suggest you step away from the werewolf unless you're really interested in finding out what I've got." Atnem pulled his bow string back a little further. He couldn't shoot, of course. So many arrows flying around like that, at least one of them would be sure to miss its mark, and probably hit Rieka. A good threat never hurt, though. Maybe some of them would back off and he could fire safely.

Rieka was frozen, and she saw pale figures surrounding her. She felt completely and utterly helpless. One of the figures reached a hand out to her. Rieka tried to scream but she couldn't open her mouth. Suddenly she had a huge headache and she fell to her knees clutching her head. "Cast your shield child, your friends will help you" A womans voice whispered in her head, She had never heard it before but it seemed familiar to her and with great effort she was able to pull upon her magic and cast a small shield around herself as she crouched on the ground.

Roisin was coming down the stairs when she heard voices, She dropped her hand to her shotgun and crouched down to peer through the banisters. There were three people in the room, one of them surrounded by shadow wraiths. She saw the surrounded one cast a shield as the wraiths reached towards her, "Smart girl," she whispered smirking, she drew her gun, closed her eyes for a second and used her years of training to co-cast scatter shot and sharp shooter and pulled the trigger.

Rieka covered her ears, as she heard a gunshot. She heard a sickening sound as they hit the things surrounding her. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up seeing smoke rising where the things once stood. She looked up higher and saw a woman with a gun crouching on the stairs. Rieka tried to speak but realized she didn't know what to say.

Roisin holstered her gun and walked down the stairs and crouched in front of the werewolf. "You shouldn't be here child, none of you should be," She said raising her her head to look at the two men. "This place isn't for the living, it hasn't been for a very long time." She stood up and pulled the girl to her feet wrinkling her nose as she did. "It was especially stupid for you to be here child, werewolves have no business in the house of the slayers."

"What do you mean the house of the slayers, this is our territory." Rieka said smoothing her clothes down. "Also, thank you, those things made me practically useless, I'm glad they're gone, my name is Rieka." She said holding out her hand.

Roisin seemed to pause when she heard Rieka's name. "Curious," she mumbled under her breath. "The mansion belonged to humans before this territory was completely under control of the werewolves. Also they aren't gone, what we saw were wraith's, impressions of the humans who once lived here, surely your pack covered this in the history lore. Have they truly fallen so far in their knowledge young one?"

"I wasn't raised in a pack, my parents raised me far from here. How do you know so much anyway? Your kind and my kind don't often sit around a campfire trading lore. Besides, do you know how to get the wraith's or whatever out of this place?"

Roisin shook her head and smiled, "Many, many years ago I befriended one of your kind, we spent quite a while together when I was much younger. She was here, on the night this mansion became what it is. To get rid of the wraith's is another case entirely, they stem from the restless souls who once lived here, their hatred of your kind and the violent manner of their death is why they still haunt this place. Getting rid of them, will not be easy, if it's possible at all. But it is a worthy mission I shall assist you if you like.
