Ultimate RP Guide

This is a Guide Created to help you in the Universe known as the Eternal Quest RP System.

The Eternal Quest RP (EQ RP) is a Free RP. In a Free RP you and fellow members will be allowed to write your own story and history. There are truly infinite possibilities; this is your realm. There isn't a set plotline. You can create your universe's history and what is going on in it. Or you could use the RP-Wide Plots that are provided for you. (more bout that later)

Getting Started

This is how you get started. First go to this thread. This is the form for signing up for the RP First you want to choose a Race.
You can find the races in this forum. Then you want to Choose a Job-class, You can find Job Classes here. What are Job-classes you ask? Jobs designate your character's unique abilities. After you choose a Job Class you want to choose two Basic skills. These skills are unique to your Class and many new skills can be unlocked as you level up. (JOIN A GUILD!!!)
Then you want to fill out the rest of your character's info. These are what make your character unique. Traits such as, personality, history, appearance, age, and of course your character's name.

Limit Breaks

Your characters can harness immense and devastating powers. You can find all the info about these attacks here.
More limit breaks become available as you level up.

Gil, it's what makes the world truly go round. We use gil for everything and anything we want. Why you ask? Because Gil is currency in the universe of EQ RP. You can get gil in an assortment of ways, but the easiest way to get it is by posting. The more you post the more Gil You get.

Purchasing Items and Using Gil

Everything costs money!!!! You can buy things at the many shops throughout the EQ world. The currently most powerful item you have in your inventory will be equipped. You can buy an assortment of weaponry and armors and magic in the shops. You can find the Shop threads here.

Your character can purchase an assortment of items and equipment including: weapons, armor, materia, mounts, and accessories.
Materia are magical stones that grant their wielder magical abilities. These are essentially extra skills available to all classes.
Weapons can be upgraded with Lapis. See the Lapis dealer for more information.

Stats

Most characters start with Attack +10, Defense +5, Mag Att 0, Mag Def 0. If you're a Mage Attack +3, Defense+3, Mag Att +8, Mag Def +5.
You have attack, defense, and magic attack and defense. These are mostly used as indicators as to how strong your character is. Pay special attention to these stats when in combat with other members' characters.

Guilds

There are two guilds that you can join. The Legend Slayers and Nox Cursori. Nox Cursori offers their members intricate story-line based quests for their members to follow. The Legend Slayers focus on quick, brutal battles.
Guilds are very important for those RPers who wish to gain the Ultimate skills and unleash your characters true potential. Sign up for the guild of your choice while creating your character. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO JOIN A GUILD!!!! You get lots of goodies, and it is the only way for your character to gain levels.

As a bonus to joining a guild your character will level. This means that the more you post the more powerful your character will become. Also it will unlock Unique skills and Unleash your true power. For more information on leveling Contact your Guild Master and see the leveling thread.

Threading

This are the Terms of which you will put in your Threads Title.

Put:

[Closed] in your thread title if you don’t want any outside effectors to join in on the story. Usually Plots that have been made to tell a key part of your characters story.

[Open] Means anyone can join in and effect the plotline make sure you put your characters name in the Title as well so it should look like this

[Jack] The haunted stairwell [closed]

Or if is a collaboration between two characters Key Parts you can put

[Jack and Jane] The wedding {Open} or {closed}

Or if making a group Key Part

[Group] The war {closed} or {open}

They are plots set up by the staff to create a background from which you can create your character's history and experiences. You don't have to follow the RP wide Plots if you do not wish but it helps. Though If you have a RP-Wide Plot that you would like to suggest Feel Free to PM a staff member. There are also events such as the Starlight Ball. Events give you the option to participate in holiday themed role-playing and such. You can find the main RP-wide Plots here.
