A sword fell through the cellar door almost hitting Rieka. "Are you ok up there big guy?" She asked, scooting away from the door and continuing her reading. "The machine works by drawing energy from the world around it but only after drawing a small amount of magic from the nearest magic users. Which is why it vibrated more after I touch it. The machine must be in contact with earth to work." She muttered as she read the text "So it uses magic to work and increases any magic cast through it...like a large staff...but it's immobile. The only way to destroy it is to melt the outer casing and dismantle the interior." She got to her feet quickly, "I've figured it out!" She yelled up through the cellar door. "But we're gonna need fire."

Jonathon could die any second, so he decided to die honestly. "Not lieing here, I don't know why they want it, they just want it. I'm just one of their pawns. My exact orders were 'go into that house, dispoese of anyone who gets in your way, and get the thing in the basement.' I don't even know what the thing is, so I'm willing to switch sides in exchange for not dieing." Jonatohn said looking up at his well armed attacker. "I really don't know anything about what's going on here."

Then as Romulus was still looking at the human he said to Rieka, "I'm fine there was just a lone human that tried to get that item." He then turned to Jonathon and said, "But what I don't understand is why do you blindly follow orders not knowing what they plan to do. Then you switch sides so easily, but don't worry I know you are telling the truth. By the way a warning if at any time you try to switch sides again I will kill you right then. Now on to that item that we need to get fire on. I do have a couple fire spells, but they are pretty strong. Human, do you have a a weak fire attack?" Then Romulus dropped the human and he landed on his but.

"No, I don't, as a matter of fact, I have no real magic at all. Now, I think I might know a way to make a flmae, but I'm going to need a few simple supplys, two sticks and some string, I'm gonna try and boyscout a flame. Also, don't worry about a double cross, I really didn't like those guys, they just payed me, not enough though. Now, can you put your sword away and introduce me to your acoomplise down stairs so we can discuss the matter at hand?" Jonathon said as he got to his feet. "Also, for an introduction, the names Jonathon."

"Hi Jonathon" Rieka said climbing up the ladder and poking her head out through the cellar door. "So you're a hired blade. Good for you. Now as for the fire...the bigger the better let's torch the house. Destroy it all. Those bastards aren't getting anything out of here, not the thing, not the notes, nothing. Burn it to the ground. It'll serve them right." She said dangling her feet over the side of the cellar entrance. "Nothing here for me but memories."

"That makes this plan much easier. Rieka, grab the thingy, and Romulus, give it all you got, as for me, I'm gonna go find my sword." Jonathon said darting downstairs. A few minutes later he came back up with weapon in it's proper sheath. "Now, let's start a fire. Oh yeah, we might want to move quick, the guys that hired me hadn't left when I got off the boat, they might still have someone lieing in wait."

Then the three of them went out the house. Then Romulus said to the two of them, "You two should get back. I'm going to make my fire ball big enough to engulf the whole house." Then Romulus put both of his hands in the air and made a gigantic fire ball. Then he threw it at the house and watched as the fire ball burned the house.

Rieka clutched her bag and turned away from the fire. She saw some men on the ship running toward the side and pointing at the house. "Hey guys, we might just have some trouble," she said as they began coming ashore. "Do we stay and fight, or just go. It doesn't matter anymore."

Then Romulus went over to Rieka, put his hand on her shoulder, and said in a soft voice, "Which would you rather do this is your fight after all. We'll just follow your lead.

Jonathon looked at the men, and was scared. "Umm, guys, they're calling in the big guns, these things aren't really human, their kind of like robots, actually they are. They know we have the thing and we just got rid of any evidence. I would suggjest running, very fast, and finding a hiding place till they give up, these things give up preatty fast." Jonathon said. "Fighting would be suicide with these guys."

"Well I still feel this is Rieka's decision, but if your worried about dying from these robots don't because I have a water attack that would make the robots malfunction and probably most of them shutting down. So Rieka what do you want to do?" Romulus said as he watched the robots get closer to them.

"Fighting would be suicide you say? Well then you two can leave. I release you from any sense of duty you have to me. I've got a score to settle." She said squaring up her shoulders. "I've got nothing to lose, not many people can say that. So I will destroy these machines and disarm the humans. Then I will leave this place, and I will not return."

Romulus started to smile and said, "I was hoping you would say that. People like them will just find something else and kill to get it we should finish what we started. If you want you can run away human." Then Romulus turned to the robots and said to the other two, "You two stand I'll take out the large group of robots coming towards us." Then Romulus held out both of his hands and yelled water. Then a huge tidal wave appeared from the ground and Romulus thrusted his arms forward. As he did this the tidal wave crash down at the robots. "Well that should take care of most of the robots close to us. Now we should probably head to their ship before they try to leave," said Romulus as he turned around to the others.

Jonathon was surprised. He'd seen the robots when he was training, nothing could stop them. Of course, they never used magic back when they were training. "If we're gonna catch them, we'd better go fast, I think those guys were supposed to stall us more then kill s." Jonathon said as he started to run towards where he had came. Sure he didn't have a score to settle, but he didn't want a bounty on his head.

Rieka saw two robots still standing. "They're mine." She said as she took off at a run. Her hair streamed behind her she approached the first one. Lept into the air, yelled out purge, and slammed her hand into it's heart sending some of it's innards out it's back. She vaulted off of the dying machine and landed on the other one using purge on it's head. She landed on the ground as the machines fell beside her and turned back to the men. "Well are you coming?" She asked brushing off the skirt of her dress.
